SEPT. 1 – HIGH HOLIDAYS IMPORTANT UPDATE!

Dear Friends,

This past summer and the coming New Year and Yom Kippur holidays have posed many problems for our synagogue and its congregants, along with all houses of worship in all religions.

The Covid-19 pandemic has  posed a real threat to  the manor in which we Jews in America have come to take for granted and felt  comfortable celebrating and observing traditions that have  been passed down for millennia, let alone from our parents and grandparents.

After remaining closed for the summer of 2020,  we opened for services this past summer with the optimism of a receding pandemic and available vaccines, but were again  hit with a new ‘Delta’ variant, that seemed to defy our desire for normalcy…., in family life, work,  and all social interactions.

We are pleased to be able to hold High Holiday services in person this year, but sad that it had to be limited in scope and attendance.

NOTICE:   A CONFIRMATION EMAIL WAS SENT AT 2:50 PM EDT TODAY FOR ALL SEAT SEAT RESERVATIONS.  IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THAT E-MAIL YOU DO NOT HAVE A SEAT.  No more seating is available due to the strict distancing required to meet the Covid-19 protocol.

For those not scheduled to attend indoors, A Shofar and Tashlich service is open to all at the State Boat Launch in Kauneonga, 2:30 PM Tuesday and a Shofar service is scheduled in the synagogue parking lot at 2:30 PM  on Wednesday WEATHER PERMITTING.

For those who are unable to attend in person, we have arranged an option to the link below for Zoom services, through the graciousness of Rabbi Susan Elkodsi, of the Malverne Jewish Center. The appropriate Machzorim needed to follow the Zoom service will be available at the synagogue over the Labor Day  weekend, at the lower entrance.

You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
